The ridiculous, exciting world of STANTON KASKAAD began in 1999 with a simple idea: create a luxury cooperative to breathe an air of adventure lost in the era of designer corporate luxury.Â
The founder began with a collection of eyewear inspired by Agnelli in the 1960s, and the arrival of the collection at the twilight of the century ignited a sarcastic revolution - distribution was limited to only friends and circles of friends. The first privately networked luxury company was born.Â
In the years that followed the world of STANTON KASKAAD grew. Projects in a variety of exotic locations meant gems in Sri Lanka, hand crafted tees in Paris referencing obscure events, luxury gold jewelry with shells combed from the beaches of Spain.
This was the world of STANTON KASKAAD.Â
In 2004, the founder invited the board of directors of the cooperative to the first annual general meeting in Iceland. On a remote peninsula in the north of the country, the weekend retreat was rocked by a murder mystery. The board had their hunches as to the perpetrator, but STANTON KASKAAD had disappeared into the mists of the shore leaving a trusted confidant to unravel the story. He has not been seen since, and new collections are sporadic.Â
But when they do arrive, the secret network of fans that know STANTON KASKAAD take note. Whispers of a new collection and other scattered reports suggest that STANTON KASKAAD is not only alive and well, but in hiding with Artemis Quibble (of Philadelphia) and other obscure fashion icons.
