A properly applied and removed hair system can make a difference and give you a natural look. It also maintains the longevity of the unit.
It is important to follow the right process as it can prevent damage to the hair system and the scalp.
Start with a clean scalp by washing it with a gentle shampoo. Thoroughly rinse away any oils or residue, then dry thoroughly.
If needed, use a scalp protector to cut down on irritation and get better adhesive performance.
Decide between tape or liquid adhesive. Tape will give you a strong but flexible hold, and liquid adhesive will create a smooth bond for longer wear.
If using tape, cut and place the strips around the perimeter of the hair system or on the scalp.
For liquid adhesive, apply a thin, even layer and wait for it to become tacky before you attach the unit.
Keep the front of the system in line with your natural hairline. Gently press it onto the scalp, working from front to back.
This step is important to keep air bubbles out. Once secured, smooth it down for a firm hold.
After the adhesive sets, style your hair as you would naturally. Use non-alcoholic styling products to maintain the hair system’s longevity.
Spray or apply a remover around the edges of the system. Let it be for some minutes to set and work on breaking down the adhesive.
Do not pull too hard. Slowly peel it off and continue to apply remover as needed.
Remove any residue from the system and clean the scalp before you apply again or store the unit.
